The music of Zhou Yunpeng, who lost his eyesight at the age of nine, is often described as vividly beautiful, like a finely detailed painting. Originally released in China in 2007, his album “Children of China” blends graceful melodies from cello, other string instruments, and traditional folk instruments with powerful lyrics that mourn children who lost their lives due to official negligence.

Praised as a masterpiece for both its musicality and its strong social message, the album’s distribution within China was limited.
